Multi-track timeline
Video, image, text and audio tracks. Drag between tracks, trim from both ends, split at the playhead, ripple-delete, snap to edges, zoom in to single frames.
A real multi-track video editor that runs entirely on your device. Cut, layer, add text and transitions, then export MP4 up to 4K with your own graphics card. Your footage never touches a server.
Works in Chrome, Edge and Safari on a laptop or desktop. Nothing to install, nothing to sign up for.
Everything you need to cut a real video
Video, image, text and audio tracks. Drag between tracks, trim from both ends, split at the playhead, ripple-delete, snap to edges, zoom in to single frames.
Titles, subtitles, lower thirds and captions: fonts, boxes, outlines, shadows, line wrapping and animations such as fade, pop, slide, blur and typewriter.
Cross dissolve, fade through black, wipes, pushes, zoom, circle and blur between any two clips on a track. Adjustable length.
Brightness, contrast, saturation, hue, blur, grayscale and sepia per clip, previewed live and rendered identically in the export.
0.25× to 4× per clip. Audio is time-stretched instead of resampled, so voices stay natural in slow motion and time-lapses alike.
Scale, move, rotate, crop and flip any layer directly on the preview. Canvases for YouTube, Reels, Shorts, TikTok, square and cinematic.
Frame-exact MP4 (H.264) or WebM (VP9) up to 4K, encoded by your GPU through WebCodecs and streamed straight to disk, with no file-size cap.
Projects and media live in your browser's private storage. Close the tab, come back tomorrow, keep editing. Still nothing uploaded, no account needed.
How it works
MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, MP3, WAV, PNG, JPG… They are read by your browser and copied into its private storage, not to us.
Trim, split, layer, add text and transitions, tune color and speed. Everything is previewed live and autosaved while you work.
Pick a resolution up to 4K and a format. Your graphics card encodes the file frame by frame while it streams to your disk.
Why this exists
Cloud editors render your video on their machines, so they need accounts, plans and watermarks to pay for it. Cinetrim renders on yours, which is faster, private and free.
| Cinetrim | Typical cloud editors* | |

| Works offline | Yes, after the first visit | No |

Privacy by architecture
Decoding, compositing and encoding use your browser's WebCodecs API. Unplug the network after the page loads and everything still works.
No analytics scripts, no advertising, no third-party requests while you edit. Fonts and libraries are served from this site.
Built on open web standards and open-source media libraries; licenses are listed on the legal notice page. Your exported file is yours.
FAQ
There is no catch. Rendering happens on your device, so there are no server costs to recover. No plans, no trial, no watermark. If Cinetrim saves you money, you can buy the author a coffee.
Imported media and projects are kept in your browser's private storage (Origin Private File System and IndexedDB) on your own computer. Nothing is sent anywhere and we have no way to access it. Delete a project in the editor or clear the site's data in your browser to remove it.
Import: MP4, WebM, MOV, MKV, M4V (H.264, HEVC, VP8, VP9, AV1, whichever your browser can decode), MP3, WAV, AAC, OGG, FLAC, PNG, JPG, WebP and GIF. Export: MP4 (H.264 + AAC) or WebM (VP9 + Opus), 720p to 4K, 24–60 fps.
Chrome, Edge and other Chromium browsers (version 102 or newer) and Safari 16.4 or newer, on a laptop or desktop. They provide the WebCodecs API needed for decoding and hardware encoding. Firefox support is partial for now.
Only your disk space and memory. Exports stream straight to a file on your disk, so even long 4K renders do not need to fit in RAM. Very large imports are copied into browser storage, which may take a moment.
Yes. You keep all rights to your footage and exports. There are no license tiers.
Not yet. Editing on a timeline needs a mouse or trackpad and a wide screen, and mobile browsers limit memory and codecs. Use a laptop or desktop.
Open the editor, drop a clip and export in minutes, without creating an account.
